Gemstone Infinity Gauntlet up for auction

Julien’s Auctions will feature a meticulously crafted replica of the Infinity Gauntlet, featuring over 170 carats of high-quality colored gemstones, beginning next month. The piece is an exact duplicate of the iconic Marvel Cinematic Universe artifact, renowned for granting extraordinary abilities to its wielder.
The concept originated in 2019 when Adam Mirzoeff, CEO of East Continental Gems—a New York-based family jewelry business—visited a high-ranking Marvel official. There, he spotted a miniature version of the gauntlet on their desk and playfully suggested his company could produce an authentic replica. After securing a partnership with Marvel and Disney, the project moved forward.
Creation of the Replica
East Continental Gems received Marvel’s proprietary design files for the gauntlet, enabling them to replicate its detailed design with precision. Each of the six Infinity Stones was crafted from genuine gemstones, including a nearly 23-carat untreated Colombian emerald, a Madagascar sapphire exceeding 30 carats, and a Mozambique ruby surpassing 15 carats.
The emerald serves as the Time Stone, granting abilities like time manipulation and freezing time. The Space Stone, represented by the Madagascar sapphire, allows for instant travel. Meanwhile, the Reality Stone, a Mozambique ruby, enables users to alter matter and generate parallel dimensions.
Gemstones and Certification
The Power Stone, responsible for energy absorption, is a natural amethyst weighing over 35 carats in an oval shape. The Soul Stone, a cushion-cut spessartite also exceeding 35 carats, controls life, death, and souls. The Mind Stone, used for mental domination, is a nearly 35-carat rectangular yellow diamond with exceptional clarity and vibrancy.
Every gemstone underwent rigorous certification by the American Gemological Laboratories, and the yellow diamond includes additional validation from the Gemological Institute of America. Christopher P. Smith, AGL’s president and lead gemologist, personally handled the evaluations, describing the project as a defining moment in his professional career.
Auction and Sale
The completed gauntlet debuted at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, initially priced at $25 million. It will now take center stage at Julien’s Celebrity & Culture Experience during the Pop Culture Legends auction evening on December 8 at Rosewood Abu Dhabi, located on Al Maryah Island.
Alongside the gauntlet, buyers will receive full gemological documentation for each stone, a signed authenticity certificate from Jim Starlin, the original creator of the Marvel Comics Infinity Gauntlet, and the original display case. The pre-sale valuation is confidential upon request, and bidding is restricted to pre-approved participants through Julien’s Auctions.
A Julien’s representative indicated the final sale price is likely to fall within the eight-figure range, meaning between $10 million and $99 million. Eligible bidders may participate in person, via telephone, or through an absentee bid.
The certificate will be included with the sale of the Infinity Gauntlet, along with full gemological certification for each stone and the original fitted presentation case.
